Mel Gibson may helm ‘Suicide Squad’ sequel

Warner Bros. has started negotiations with world famous actor and director Mel Gibson to direct a sequel to its ‘Suicide Squad’, media says.

This comes as the studio is also looking at other directors, including Daniel Espinosa, Ruben Fleischer and Jonathan Levine, among others.

The original ‘Suicide Squad’, starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Jared Leto, was written and directed by David Ayer.

The movie follows the story of a group of villains and antiheroes who were forced into the service of the government in exchange for lighter sentences.

The ‘Suicide Squad’ grossed more than USD700 million at the worldwide box office.
